Graduation Day

It's time to celebrate all the wonderful times we have shared and look forward to the adventures ahead.

Preschool enjoyed a fabulous Graduation Ceremony last month along with proud mums, dads, grandmas, grandpas, brothers and sisters . Our graduates made and wore their own mortar boards and donned their graduation gowns in their chosen academic colours with great pride.

They each had their special moment up on stage to shake hands with Mrs Cowling and receive a certificate, medal and trophy.

What better way to celebrate than with a slice of rainbow cake afterward amongst friends and family. Who knows what magic and adventures lay ahead for you all.

We wish you and your families every happiness and success and thank you for being such an enormous part of our nursery family. We love you all and will miss you.

Here's to you the class of '17! Cheers!

Happy Hatch Day little ones!

We are thrilled to announce that after a bit of a wait, our first 3 ducklings have finally hatched! Duckling number 1, who has been named Daisy, emerged a little wobbly and bedraggled at 2.30 this morning. She was later followed by duckling number 2, Dolly, who hatched out at 11 o'clock this morning with a group of awe-struck children (and adults) looking on. Duckling number 3, Mario shortly followed at about 12.30 this lunch time. Daisy is now enjoying hanging out in the brooder box and will be joined by Dolly and Mario shortly once they have found their waddling feet!

As you can imagine, the nursery is buzzing with excitement and we are so thrilled that you have been able to be a part of this magical event. If you would like to come and see our new arrivals, you are more than welcome! They really are beautiful.

We will keep you posted about any developments with the other 4.

We have a winner!

We are delighted to announce that the winning entry to our Storytelling Competition is Finley Smith with his story, 'The Big Brown Bear'. Congratulations Finley! We just loved his story of a grumbly bear living in the woods at Purple Rocket. We have met with our illustrator this morning and he is now busy working his magic turning Finley's story into a book that we hope to share with you all very soon. Well done to all those who entered. We had such fun reading all your fabulous stories. We have certificates and prizes for all those who entered and prizes for our runners up too.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt . . .

National Storytelling Week

Preschool were taken on a truly inspiring journey through wavy grass, oozy mud and swirling whirling snowstorms yesterday during their outdoor Storytelling session. It was so lovely to share the magic with many of our adventure-hungry parents and grandparents. Stumble trip, stumble trip your way over to catch a glimpse of yesterday's fun!

Chinese New Year celebrations

We are busy celebrating Chinese New Year here at the nursery. The children have been painting lanterns, exploring traditional music and songs, having a go at dragon dances and learning about particular customs. On Wednesday, we celebrated with a traditional Chinese meal. The children even decorated their own bowls. A wonderful time was had by all; take a look!

Animals for Parties

We were lucky enough to have a visit from Sally from Animals for Parties today. She brought along with her, a merry band of friends for us all to meet. Just take a look! Rolo the 'skinny' pig was a particular favourite among children and staff. Thank you so much Sally for introducing us to all your wonderful friends-we have learnt such a lot!

Today's line up included: Storm the rabbit, Bonnie and Rocky the bearded dragons, Shakka the corn snake, Sally and Sam the tortoises, Rolo the 'skinny' pig, Fidget the meerkat, Tula the owl and Shadow the miniature hedgehog.
